Far From Cold

Far from Cold is an insightful look at the call of God to go cross-cultural. Gill relates how the vision and expectations of missionaries are challenged and eventually changed through God transforming them all the while using them to make Himself known to others. Gill’s story shows a persistent trust in God’s faithfulness for those who look to Him for guidance in the midst of weakness and what on the surface looks like failure at times. It is an excellent read for anyone considering going into the mission field.

The Red Book

“Those words they’d read in that inconsequential scrap they’d found after her father-in-law’s death had been the beginning of opening their understanding.”
The dull creaking of a wooden oxcart heralds the arrival of the funeral procession to the bottom of a mountain in Arhangai Province, the scrubland wilderness where Namdorj and his wife, Yanjaa, started their new life.
As the family struggle against the pressure of modern Mongolia, neither can know the significance of the indecipherable manuscript that passes into their hands.
Through illness and death, political upheaval, and dramatic cultural change, the many tribulations faced by Namdorj’s family push memories of the manuscript aside. Few recall its existence and only one will discover the hidden message that it holds.
